I am not sure what age we will be when we can no longer sleep in a train seat, but I do know that we are rapidly approaching that age.

We tried to be cute and use the bid up system to get a bunkette, which is a small room with foldout beds. You get a coach seat and then bid whatever amount of dollars you think would get you a bunk room. It can save you a ton of money. Turns out, we did not win the bid. Still, we enjoyed the sites and sounds of the train, even if we did show up to San Diego quite exhausted.

We are doing our last minute gear prep, filling our bellies, and walking around Old Town San Diego before we take a shuttle to the border.

Next stop, Mexico.

Almost all the people who have ever lived have walked, and most of them are dead.
