1774-1793

In the morning amber still has not passed by me tent right next to the trail.  I waited until 7, and then decided she had to be down at the lodge.  I walked up to find her sitting with Papa bear. Before getting back on trail we had some breakfast together, researched some of the fires up ahead, and charged our electronics.

I took exactly 1 picture today, and it was this:

A picture of terrible blowdowns. That is the trail.  This was the story of the day.  We clambered up and over countless blowdowns while walking through very smoky air.  It was very slow progress.

The mosquitos were also very bad.  We are hiking through the sky lakes wilderness, which is dotted with hundreds of lakes.

For reference, here is a map of the area right next to the trail:

At night we slept in a ditch next to the trail and ate bars for dinner.  That is all I have to say about today.

    Blowdowns be bygones.

I think the mosquitoes would be my worst misery.

Every still moment becomes an exercise in suffering. Mosquitos flip the script.
